The Government of Uttar Pradesh announces the launch of Season 6 of Wild Clicks - India's Only Live Photography Contest - powered by Canon. The contest aims to give photographers from all walks of life to showcase their skills & mettle in a unique competition that will ensure an equal level play field for all participants.

    With identical shooting conditions, on-field mentoring by Canon Photo Mentors and live judgment by an eminent jury - here is your chance to showcase your skills and win a brand new Canon 5D Mark III and a host of other prizes!
  • CWC 6 Event Synopsis
    Canon Wild Clicks Season 6 - India's Only Live Photography Contest concluded in Dudhwa National Park. With identical shooting conditions, defined themes and a defined timeframe, over 100 contestants came together to test their creativity and think beyond tigers during the 4 day competition. The event was conducted in partnership with Uttar Pradesh Government and Forest Department of Dudhwa.

    It all kickstarted with the Honourable Chief Minister, Mr. Akhilesh Yadav flagging off Canon Wild Clicks as Nature Wanderers along with the Government of Uttar Pradesh welcomed 100 chosen photographers from all corners of India to be a part of the mega event from Nov 17-21, 2016. The entire group was divided in 3 parts to be mentored and guided by ace photographers - Shivang Mehta, Tejas Soni, Sandeep Dutta and Saurabh Desai.

    This year jury comprised of award winning photographers Ganesh H Shankar and Jagdeep Rajput who spent countless hours judging over 500 images being submitted as per 5 themes given to the contestants.

    CWC 6 has always been a great platform for knowledge sharing and this year the contestants got to be a part of talks on photographic compositions by Ganesh Shankar and some interesting panel discussions with Jagdeep Rajput.

    Pratik Pradhan from Mumbai was judged the overall winner of Canon Wild Clicks Season 6 and won a Canon EOS 5D Mark IV and some exciting goodies from our sponsors WulPro & Sirui. Along with the Grand Winner, Canon Wild Clicks - Season 6 had five themes winners & 12 honorary mentions.

  • Canon Wild Clicks History
    For the past 5 years, Canon Wild Clicks (CWC) has been celebrating the spirit of wildlife and nature photography in India by churning out the brightest and finest talent through the medium of this unique competition which gives you the opportunity to interact with leading edge photographers on the field and is also an avenue to showcase photographic skills to a mass audience owing to the massive reach CWC has been able to achieve because of its popularity on online and offline media.

    The concept of Canon Wild Clicks kick-started with Nature Wanderers organizing the first edition of the competition in Corbett National Park in 2010. Under the able guidance of wildlife film-maker Mike Pandey, the competition has grew in stature, participation and reputation. Leading names in the photography and wildlife circuit including Gobind Sagar Bharadwaj, Ganesh H Shankar and Jagdeep Rajput have played a critical role in revamping and renovating the format every year keeping the basic essence and aesthetics alive - presence of mind and ability of a photographer to perform under challenging situations.

  • Dudhwa National Park
    A perfect representation of the Terai landscape, Dudhwa National Park is one of India's hidden treasures. The green jewels of Uttar Pradesh comprise the Dudhwa National Park, Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary, Pilibhit Tiger Reserve and Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary.


    Major attractions of Dudhwa National Park are the tigers, One Horned Rhinoceros, Elephants, swamp deer, sambar deer, barking deer, spotted deer, hog deer, barasingha, sloth bear, jackal, civets, jungle cat, fishing cat, & leopard cat. The park has rich bird life as well, with over 350 species, including the swamp francolin, great slaty woodpecker and Bengal florican, hornbills, kingfishers, heron, ducks, geese, teal & painted Storks.

    A range of migratory birds settle here during winters which includes among others, painted storks, black and white necked storks, sarus cranes, woodpeckers, barbets, kingfishers, minivets, bee-eaters, bulbuls and varied night birds of prey.

    Ganesh H. Shankar

    One of India's most creative natural history photographers, Ganesh H. Shankar is an inspiration for all photography enthusiasts. He has been honing his craft for the past 15 years. Ganesh is an artist at work, attempting to capture the various moods of nature in all her elements, mostly using monotones and creative expressions. He loves to explore the mysteries of light, and the mysticism of colors, forms, and shapes. Ganesh's works have featured in numerous national and international publications.

    Gobind Sagar Bharadwaj

    Dr Gobind Sagar Bhardwaj, a senior forest officer belonging to Indian Forest Service, having vast experience in natural resource conservation, especially in the field of wildlife management. Dr. Bhardwaj has served in various capacities in different forest divisions of Rajasthan, including managing one of the best tiger reserves of the country, Ranthambhore National Park. It is during his tenure in Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve he developed a deep passion for wildlife, especially the magnificent tiger. Based on his observations on tigers, he has authored a book on tigers, "Tracking Tigers in Ranthambhore". He is the recipient of the State Award in 1999 for outstanding services for the State of Rajasthan. The award was given for saving the life of villagers and a tiger that had strayed outside the forest into a village, during which Dr. Bharadwaj was badly mauled by the tiger. Dr. Bharadwaj was amongst the top 3 Sanctuary Wildlife Photographers of the year 2011.

    30+ international and national awards including a consistent run when it comes to prestigious nature photography trophies like BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year, Nature's Best Photography Awards, International Photography Awards USA, DJ Memorial Competition and the list goes on.... His eye has witnessed some of the rarest natural history moments of wild India.

    Internationally acclaimed natural history photographer, Jagdeep Rajput, has made India proud in the global wildlife photography circuit with his outstanding photographic work in Indian forests over the last 2 decades. Jagdeep would be a part of the eminent jury of CWC for 2014.
