    ISUZU Presents Season 7 of Wild Clicks - India's Only Live Wildlife Photography Contest - powered by Canon India. The contest aims to give photographers from all walks of life to showcase their skills & mettle in a unique competition that will ensure an equal level play field for all participants.

  • Canon Wild Clicks History
    For the past 7 years, Canon Wild Clicks (CWC) has been celebrating the spirit of wildlife and nature photography in India by churning out the brightest and finest talent through the medium of this unique competition which gives you the opportunity to interact with leading edge photographers on the field and is also an avenue to showcase photographic skills to a mass audience owing to the massive reach CWC has been able to achieve because of its popularity on online and offline media.

    The concept of Canon Wild Clicks kick-started with Nature Wanderers organizing the first edition of the competition in Corbett National Park in 2010. Under the able guidance of wildlife film-maker Mike Pandey, the competition has grown in stature, participation and reputation. Leading names in the photography and wildlife circuit including Gobind Sagar Bharadwaj, Ganesh H Shankar and Jagdeep Rajput have played a critical role in revamping and renovating the format every year keeping the basic essence and aesthetics alive - presence of mind and ability of a photographer to perform under challenging situations.

  • Satpura National Park
    Located in the Hoshungabad district of Madhya Pradesh, Satpura is an extensive forest covering a broad array of unique Central Indian flora and fauna. This beautiful reserve is cradled in the Mahadeo Hills of the Satpura Range that is characterized by fascinating deep valleys, narrow gorges, cascading waterfalls and rich vegetation. Home to the iconic big cats like tigers and leopards, Satpura is known for its leopard and sloth bear sightings. Some of the best leopard images from India have been photographed in Satpura in the recent years. The areas around Satpura are teaming with wildlife as well. Smaller cats like Rusty Spotted Cat and Jungle Cats are frequently seen in the surrounding areas.

    Biodiversity of Satpura includes leopard, sambar, chital, Indian muntjac, nilgai, four-horned antelope, Chinkara, wild boar, bear, black buck, fox, porcupine, flying squirrel, mouse deer, Indian giant squirrel, etc. There are a variety of birds. Hornbills and peafowl are common birds found here.The flora consists of mainly sal, teak, tendu, Phyllanthus emblica, mahua, bel, bamboo, and grasses and medicinal plants.

    Shivang Mehta

    Co-Founder of Nature Wanderers and one of India's finest photographers, Shivang has conducted over 400 field wildlife photography tours and workshops and is also a Canon Photo Mentor. Over the years Shivang has married his writing and photography skills to churn out one of its kind travel notes, published across many travel sites and magazines. Shivang has been awarded at prestigious competitions like DJ Memorial Photography Awards, Yes Bank Photography Awards, Nature's Best Awards - to name a few. In October 2017, Shivang made his debut as an author of a book - A Decade with Tigers - which showcases the stories of India's iconic tiger characters.

    Tejas Soni

    Mr. Tejas Soni is a sculpture artist by profession, started clicking around the year 2000. He is one of the finest contemporary nature photographers in India. His work has been showcased in renowned national as well as international publications. He is an inspiration for amateur photographers and recently, a popular photo-sharing website '500px' has named him as one of the top 12 'Awe-Inspiring photographers of the world. He is associated with Canon India as photo mentor. To encourage creativity and share his knowledge to the upcoming generation of photographers, Mr. Soni has found a photography firm 'Karastaan'. In this new venture he teaches techniques of photography, provide on field lessons by arranging photo tours and workshops. In very less time Karastaan has created positive credibility and appreciation for itself in the field of photography.

    Saurabh Desai

    From fine art to natural history, from wildlife to people and culture, Saurabh Desai is one of India's leading nature photographer who has been charming all of us with his wonderful photography for more than a decade. From capturing the beauty beyond general identity of wildlife, Saurabh's work is a visual luxury encompassing Colors, patterns, intensity, Minimalism, Peace, Flow, Green, Monochrome. Saurabh has been widely published and has received multiple recognition in his home state Gujarat and nationally and internationally.

    Ramakrishnan Aiyaswamy

    Ramakrishnan is a Nature & Wildlife Photographer from Bangalore, India. His work has been featured in acclaimed magazines like Sanctuary Asia, Saevus Wildlife and at many conservation columns---websites such as Karnataka tourism websites, blogs and books like the Wildlife Trust of India, WWF India and much more. Few of his accomplishments are Special Mentions in Sanctuary---RBS Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2010, finalist at the DJ Memorial Photography Competition 2013, Winner at Nature in Focus 2017, Honorary mention at DJMPC 2017.

    Kalyan Varma is an award winning wildlife photographer, filmmaker, naturalist and explorer specializing in environment, science and ecology in India. He freelances with many of the world's leading magazines, environmental NGOs and television channels like Nat Geo and BBC.

    He is the co-founder of Nature inFocus, a portal that is a photo-led wildlife exploration into the Indian wilderness, which also runs a premier nature festival in Asia. Sharing his knowledge of photography, wildlife, and people across various platforms including workshops and seminars is an important part of the work that he does.

    Over the last 12 years, he has worked on many landmark blue chip wildlife series for the BBC and National Geographic channel. His work has appeared in many publications worldwide, including National Geographic, Nature, The Guardian, BBC Wildlife, GEO, Smithsonian, Lonely Planet and other magazines.

    Jagdeep Rajput

    30+ international and national awards including a consistent run when it comes to prestigious nature photography trophies like BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year, Nature's Best Photography Awards, International Photography Awards USA, DJ Memorial Competition and the list goes on.... His eyes have witnessed some of the rarest natural history moments of wild India.

    Internationally acclaimed natural history photographer, Jagdeep Rajput, has made India proud in the global wildlife photography circuit with his outstanding photographic work in Indian forests over the last 2 decades. Jagdeep would be a part of the eminent jury of CWC for 2018.

    Vikramjit Singh Bal

    His deep love for the woods of Kumaon and his childhood dream of making a wildlife film made him choose film making as a career. He started his life as a cameraman doing the traditional corporate and advertising films but the inner desire to get back to wildlife was always there. When Vikram heard his true calling, there was no stopping. He spent months in Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve for making his film - Telia Sisters which got him global recognition. This was followed by films where pioneering night vision technology was used in the form of thermal cameras. India's Wandering Lions and Manas : The Return of the Giants were some of the iconic films Vikram worked on and through these he presented some never before seen visuals of Indian wildlife after dark.

    For the past 2 years, Vikram has been living his dream to do the first proper commercial film on Corbett National Park and has spent over 200 days of filming in the region collecting some extraordinary footage of tigers and elephants in this mesmerising forest. His much awaited Corbett film is under production and would be one-of-its-kind.
    Vikram with his astute vision behind the camera would be making a debut as a Wild Clicks judge and would be eyeing the entries from a story telling perspective.

  • Event Itinerary
    Like every year, the Wild Clicks schedules are meticulously designed considering the competition themes so that the contestants get a flavour of various elements of the location and equal opportunities to photograph in the given circumstances. The contest themes for this year are very interesting and the program itinerary has been chalked out to accommodate these themes.

    The Satpura schedule for Wild Clicks 7 would make you think beyond the famed big cats of the park and will trigger your creative juices and train your photographic brain for the next level of wildlife photography. Here is the rough outline of the program:

    June 6
    Early morning pick up (between 7-8am) from Bhopal airport / railway station. Drive to Satpura National Park (3-4 hours).
    Check-in at Reni Pani Jungle Lodge by 12pm.
    Inauguration & announcement of themes
    An evening buffer game drive in the outskirts of Satpura in search of nocturnal wildlife like porcupines, small cats like jungle cats and rusty spotted cat.
    Dinner & networking with mentors

    June 7
    The group would be divided in 2 parts in order to reduce pressure on wildlife and activities undertaken during the event.
    Group 1 would go for an early morning safari in Satpura National Park while Group 2 shall be accompanied by trained naturalists for a nature walk.
    Post lunch, Group 2 would go for an evening safari in Satpura National Park while Group 1 will be going for a nature walk.
    Interactive session with the jury in the evening.
    Dinner & networking with mentors

    June 8
    Group 1 would go for an early morning safari in Satpura National Park while Group 2 shall be accompanied by trained naturalists for a blackbuck safari.
    Post lunch, both the groups would be sent to different trails for a nature walk.
    Evening buffer safari in Satpura outskirts in search of nocturnal wildlife
    Dinner & networking with mentors

    June 9
    Group 2 would go for an early morning safari in Satpura National Park while Group 1 would be going for the blackbuck safari.
    Post lunch, images would need to be submitted at the submission desk.
    Dinner & networking in the event as the jury sits for a comprehensive judgement process in the jury room.

    June 10
    Early morning breakfast post which the all delegates would be assembling for a prize distribution ceremony.
    Check out post the prize distribution ceremony and drop will be arranged at Bhopal airport / railway
