Satpura means seven mountains. It’s a highly dense forest with tough terrain which consists of fascinating deep valleys, sandstone peaks, rivulets, & waterfalls.
The forest is known as the Throne of Elusive !! ... It is home to healthy population of Leopards and Sloth Bears. This makes is one of India's best places to witness and photography elusive leopards.
Its also home to Spotted Dear, Indian Bison(Gaur), Wild boar, Wild dog, Sloth bear, Black buck (unique attraction), Porcupine, Sambhar, four Horned antelopes (Chowsingha), Smooth otter, Pangolin, Marsh crocodile, & languars etc.
It offers good birding opportunity due to its unique terrain and many water bodies including the Tawa reservoir.
