It not only has the highest density of tigers among protected areas in the world but is also home to large breeding populations of the One-horned rhino, Asiatic elephants, wild water buffalo, and swamp deer. A UNESCO world heritage site, Kaziranga with an impressive population of birds, is considered to be a dream location for some exotic species like the Great Indian Hornbill. Compared to other protected areas in India, Kaziranga has achieved notable success in wildlife conservation and that’s why it must appear on your checklist while exploring the wild.
